Our inaugural release for Zinfandel is sourced from the famous Teldeschi vineyard planted almost 100 years ago. Elegance and balance have become a trademark of the Timark wines, and this is no exception. Medium garnet hue with blackberry and dark cherry notes on the nose. Bold and full bodied with flavors of berry and cherry echoing the nose. Subtle vanilla from French oak aging create a lush and lingering finish. 97% Zinfandel, 3% Petite Sirah.
Micheal Moon Zinfandel is the newest label under Timark Wines which was started by two friends, Tim and Mark. And now we have Micheal Moon, a collaboration between husband and wife, Tim and Lena. Both having a love for wine and a desire to make one together, they decided to embark on a new adventure making a new varietal, zinfandel.
We wanted to create a new name that represented the both of us. Instead of using our first names (as was done with Timark), we used both of our middle names, Micheal and Moon. Plus, it has a nice ring to it!
Another thing we have in common is our love of animals, such as the sea otter used in the Timark label. During my (Lena's) research, I came across an image of a wolf and it's meaning. A wolf symbolizes a strong connection with your instincts and intuition. It has the ability to make quick and firm emotional attachments and often need to trust their own instincts. Thus they teach us to do the same, to trust our hearts and minds and have control over our own lives. This is a perfect description of Tim. He is always guiding and teaching me to trust in myself and my abilities, to trust my instincts. He believes in me like no one else does. He is my wolf. And of course you can guess what represents me in the logo.
